BRITAIN’S REPRISAL SPIRIT

ARCHBISHOP SHOCKED, ' LONDON, July 9Tho Archbishop of Canterbury,- in a recent letter to tho press, protested against the clamour for air raids in reprisal for the raids on London, stating that we did not want dead babies in German streets because the Germans 'hilled babies in London. ' The i'Archhishop informed tho Convocation of G'anteiioury on Tuesday that lie was startled and horrified at tho ■number of letters he had received stating that tho writers did want this. They wanted to see the German streets run' red with blood, and women and children reduced to pulp. The Archbishop added that such letters betokened the growth of a hitherto unknown spirit in England.
