ONSLOW BOROUGH
COUNCIL MEETING. Tho fortnightly meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held on Saturday night, the Mayor (Mr J, Dale) presiding ever the following councillors:—E. A. Budd, W. Apnleson. E. G. Tucker, A. B. Topp, E. Hobbs, P. F. Hodgson, C. Bowden, and J. C. Gardiner. Councillor Appleton gave a brief account of the result of a visit of a deputation which waited upon the Secretary of the Post Office, in regard to a slot telephone being installed at Ngaio. It ■was decided to make a formal application to the department, in view of the favourable reply given to the deputation. On the motion of the Mayor it was decided to call applications for the position of a borough road foreman at a salary of £i per week. Councillor Tucker moved that tenders bo called for the right to graze sheep on the catchment area at Khandallah. Tho motion was carried.
