STATES’ DEFICIT CAUSES ANXIETY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright PERTH, _ July 21. At the opening of Parliament, the Governor's Speech expressed anxiety at the State’s deficit. The Government proposed to economise strictly, and amalgamate Government departments. When the amount of savings was ascertained, taxation for the balance of revenue and expenditure would be introduced. The time was inopportune for the introduction of legislation. as the Government’s policy must be submitted to the people for endorsement. ■>-
