The following letter, dated June 29th. and signed by Mr A. F. Cuddihy (Mayor) and MrW. S. Ra.wnsley (town clerk) of Albany, West Australia, was read in the House of Representatives yesterday, amid applause, by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. Sir James Mien): —“I have the honour by direction of the Albany Municipal Council, to place on record their appreciation of the excellent conduct of the New Zealand troops passing through our port. Thousands of your brave fellows have passed through, and without exception their behaviour has been everything that could bo desired; and when you consider the numbers, that is a marrollons record for any troops to hare. The citizens are always proud and happy to welcome the Now Zealanders ”
