It is proposed to use automobile and typewriter factories tor the manufacture, of battleplane parts, which will be standardised. Tho Aircraft Board hopes soon to relieve tho Allies of the manufacture of nil aeroplanes, except the speediest types. America proposes to manufacture. a thousand battleplane engines a month and also thousands of training aeroplanes for use in Europe. An American battleplane capable of flying 110 miles an hour will be used lor bombing and observation on the West front. . , President Wilson supports a request for an appropriation of six hundred million dollars fur aviation work.\

Lieutenant Delagrange, a French aircraft missioucr, states that the Allies plan to carry out an aerial invasion of Germany, in which victory is oorIf America carries out her aircraft programme, the Allies could wipe put the submarine bases, munition factories, and mobilisation depots, and render Heligoland impotent before an Anglo-American naval attack. Even Berlin will be at tho mercy of the .Allies if America provides sufficient aeroplanes and men.
FOOD CONTROL BILL

There is some talk of a compromise in tho Senate. The measure includes tho authorisation of a Food Control Department, empowered to co-operate with tho Allies in purchasing and taking steps for tho conservation of supplies. Tno passage of some kind of food legislation within two weeks is predicted.
