DAIRY FACTORY MANAGERS
THE SEASON'S DIFFICULTIES. EXCELLENT EXHIBITS. From Our Special Reporter. PALMBRSTOX X., Juno 20. The annual meeting of the Dairy Factory Managers' Association was held on the Palmerston show grounds last night. Mr J. Murray presided over a large attendance. The annual report of the executive stated that it was feared at last annual meeting that tho season would prove one of difficulty. So far as factory labour was concerned, managers who had experienced not only the shortage but the poor class of casus-' workers available had the war brought home to them in no small degree. The quality of cheese and butter, therefore had been maintained only by strenuoui work and strict personal supervision. Tho balance-sheet, which, with' the annual- report, was adopted, showed a credit balance of £l3 ICs 3d. The Dairy Commissioner, Mr. D. Cuddle, attended and congratulated the managers who were exhibiting at the show on the excellence of their exhibits. The butter was so uniform that it might all have been -made in the one factory. This was particularly gratifying in view of tho difficulties encountered.
