From Our Own Correspondent. AIASTERTON. Juno 18. On Saturday jar Uoruon Laing, oi Riversdale. ns cleaning a gun, which ho was not aware was loaded, when it went oil. the discharge entering the leg of his little son, who was standing close by, tearing away portion of the flesh. The unfortunate- hoy was brought into Masterton and was attended by' Dr (Jowie. He is reported to be progressing favourably. On Saturday afternoon the little daughter of Hr and Mas H. M. Boddington, of Masterton, was sitting alone in a phaeton when the horse bolted. The child became frightened and jumped out of the vehicle, sustaining slight concussion of the brain. Dr Cowie attended the child, who is making satisfactory progress. The football match on Saturday between the Masterton and Camp teams was won easily by the former by 39 points to nit. Owing to a hitch in the arrangements the Camp was represented bv a weak team. Mr P. Wilton was referee. In. a hockey match the soldiers beat Masterton by 5 goals to 4.
