The Gisborn© meeting opens to-mor-row. Situated as they are at Gisborne, the peculiar turn taken by the Railway Department will have little, if any. effect upon the attendance. Eight horses are engaged in the Park Hurdles, of two miles, Marconi (11) leading tho list. On Wanganui running Montana (10..5) and Kohmahina (9.4) should bo able to account for the rest of tho Sold.

Mulrie is an acceptor for the Maiden Hack Race, and from a quality; viewpoint should show out. Another Multifid horse. Multiplane, is in the ■•ace.

The Flying Handicap is an open race. There are fifteen acceptors, most of them being fair performers. Gazique has to carry 11.10 over the six furlongs, which may prove a difficult task. Multifual has one pound less and Bjomeborg is down a pound again. The best-looker on the weights is Carlysian (10.3), with Pearl Mane (9.5) as a runner-up. The Gisborne Steeplechase has an acceptance of seven moderates. Troublesome (11.7) and Fagot (Xa.6) should be able to ruu along with the others, providing they can negotiate the fences. Diavolo (10) may be t.is dark horse of the day if he stands up to it.

The Hack Handicap of seven f'H* longs has a field of nineteen, most of them being raw ones.
