A Takaka resident, who was recommended to try lemon juice for the removal of corns, had an Unenviable experience. He trimmed the growths and applied the juice, with the result that blood-poisoning set in. He was admitted to the Nelson Hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate one of his toes.
