CRICKET SEASON

PLAYERS' RECORDS SENIOR BATTING AND BOWLING AVERAGES. (By the "Veteran/') Another season of cricket matches under the Wellington Cricket Association aro over and done with, and herewith aro appended the averages obtained by the players. The play has been on the quiot side, with hardly any fireworks. although in two instances previous records have been broken. E. M. Becchey and H, Lambert (Old Boys) scored v 237 runs for the second wicket, which is the highest partnership to date in senior matches; and E. F. Keys (Boys' Institute Old Boys) took the whole ten "wickets against Petone, the first time such a performance has been recorded. E. M. Bccchcy (653) is the only batsman who" has scored over 500 runs for the season, and he is th© only one who has secured two centuries. J. Hutchings (61), W. S. Brice (56). J, S.
