The Camp Commandant acknowledges with thanks receipt of the following gifts For the hospital—From Mr T. E. Rodda, 7 cases grapes; ‘ Nelson Club, books and periodicals, l Mr T. Clark, Eskdale, Napier, 1 case lemons; Soldiers' Comforts CV.ild, 2 blocks cakes, cigarettes, 4 do* fresh eggs, tobacco; Salvation Army, oranges, sweets, cakes, and handkerchiefs; Mrs Luke, 3 feeding cups and 1 eye bath; Miss\Meaclem, bag of apricots and bag of apples. For the troops—From Mr Oldfield, Masterton, 6 bottles tomatoes and 6 Jars of jam, which have been, distributed to best advantage to troops in Engineers’ Camp. The following temporary . appointments are approved of by the Camp Commandant :
G Com-pany, 23rd Reinforcementsl—Corporal A. G. Baddeley to bo sergeant. A Company, 24th Sergeant E. G. Campbell to be company-sergeant-major and Private A. F. Webb lance-sergeant, C Company, 23rd Relnforceit%ite—Corporal J. S. 0. Ballance to be lance-ser-geant, 30th Reinforcements Infantry— Private F. D, Qcddes to be corporal and LanceCorporal H. W, Smith to be corporal. Temporary-Lieutenant Alfred Cheater is granted the rank of honorary captain (temporary) whilst employed as assist-ant-infantry instructor at Trentham Camp.' (Dated January Ist, 1917.), Quartermaster-Sergeant W. O. Livingstone Forsythe McNair is granted the rank of honorary lieutenant (temporary) during the period of the war, and is attached to the New Zealand Staff Corps. (Dated February 20th, 1917.) FEATHERSTON. The following officers are transferred as under: Lieutenant D. Cowen, from Featherston Details to Trentham Details. Second-Lieutenant P. J. Cox, from Infantry Details to H Company, 25th. The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Com, mandant: — C Company, 26th—Corporal F. M. Burnett, to be sergeant; Corporal C. J. Glover, to be sergeant; Corporal D. Hurley, to sergeant; Corporal W. F. Crum, to be lance-sergeant g Corporal W. J. Williams, to be lance-sergeant. „ . , Army Pay Department—To be corporals—Privates H. S. Whyte, L, McNie, S. R.
