The Wanganui Education Board wrote, stating it cailnot see its way to agree to the Land Board’s proposal to limit its right of occupation to the present school site (lots 10, of section 29U, and 2, of section 300, Palmerston North) to two years, and asked to be allowed to continue in occupation until the school is erected on the new site.—Resolved that the board adheres to the terms of its resolution of October 86th, 1916, but in the event of the Education Board requiring the land at the expiration of the term granted, this board'will grant an extension of the tenancy. Mr G. L. Mr Donald MacDonald applied for a lease of part of section 38, block 12, Mount Cerberus, 2a lr 09p.—It was resolved to grant him a temporary license for a period of five years under section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a. rental of £1 per annum, subject to the usual conditions. A report was received from tho ranger as to improvements on section 21, block 12, Belmont, la Or 37p, Paparangi Settlement.- —It was resolved. to re-offer this section on renewable lease at annual rent of £8 6s 6d, with value of improvements reduced to £250. In continuation of the board’s resolution of February 22nd, 1917, it was resolved to weight section 54, block 12, Mount Cerberus, when offered for cash, with £l7O 5s for improvements. Mr Thomas Butler applied for a lease of about 258 acres of Crown land between railway and road north of section 2, block 16, Manganui S.D. — It was resolvod to grant him a temporary license to occupy under section 130 of the Land Act, 1968, for a period of five years, at a rental of £5 per annum, subject to the usual conditions.

It was resolved to cancel Mr Broadbelt’s tramway license through section 24b, block 8, M-akotuku, as on 31/12/’l7. Mr J. Anson, lessee of run 32, blocks 6,7, and' 8, Tiriraukawa, submitted a plan of the subdivision of his run into two portions, 2000 acres and 900 acres respectively, for the consideration and approval of the board in terms of section 21 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1914.——Resolved that the run be inspected as to scheme of subdivision, and providing legal road access, a fresh valuation to be made by Valuation Department.

Mr W. Cowem applied for a permit to split green kaikawhaka on Crown land between Overhead bridge and Waimarino railway station, where he is now cutting dead timber. It was resolred to grant the permit, at the same rate of royalty as he is paying "for other timbers under his present permit. '

P. Eiligate's permit to occupy parts of sections 5 and 7, block 12, -Vlanganui S.D., as on Juno 30th, 1917, and allow him the right to remove his improvements or dispose of them.

It was resolved to grant him a permit to ocdupy these sections tem-porarily-from year to year under section 430 of the Land Act,* 1908, at a rent of £2 per annum subject to the usual conditions, and to his sowing, free of cost, the burnt area if it is

found possible to provide him with the grass seed. ' Tenders for grazing the unallotted sections in the Tiraumea Settlement were accepted as under: —Lot 1 (sections 6, 7 and part 10),K. E.
