PROFESSOR PREFERS THE LATTER. Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 29the Military Service Board tlw Rev. Dr Csineron, Chancellor of the University of Otago, appealed on behalf of Thomas Adams, professor ot Latin and Greek, p'ho had voluntarily enlisted. Evidence was given that it was impossible to replace Adams. There ■wore only three persons in tho 'Dominion capable of replacing him, and they were engaged elsewhere. His assistant, a young lady, might carry on under a modified programme. Adams said that, personally he preferred active service, and the hoard dismissed the appeal. Adams "ill not go into camp till May 30th.
