Mr Sullivan, who was formerly in the Deeds Office in New Plymouth, and subsequently contested the Parnell, seat at the last general election, is at present engaged in military duties at the Defence Department in Wellington. Dr 0. T. Orosslcy, formerly Anglica*. Bishop of Auckland, has undertaken the ..office of chief-commissioner end superintondent of the band of special service clergy which is being organised in the diocese of Llandaff. Dr Crossley will devote his whole time to these duties, and mil therefore vacate the benefice of Dinas Powis, Cardiff, to which he was appointed in, 1914,

The Hon. Sir James Allen (Acting-Pre-mier and Minister for Defence) left Wellington last night for Christchurch, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Edendale. At Dunedin on Monday the Minister is to open the new; medical school buildings, and at Edendale he is to unveil a memorial and roll of honour monument. He is expected back in Wellington on Hood Friday, In recognition of his splendid service* to the club a presentation was made at last night’s meeting of the Oriental Football Club to Mr'F. Roberts by Mr E. Wylie (chairman) on behalf of club members. Mr Wylie referred to M< Roberts's marriage some time back, and hoped that the presentation would also act as a memento of that occasion. ■ Appreciative reference ' was also made t« the good services'Tendered to the" club bv Mrs Roberts. Second Lieutenant Horace Vincent Byrne Speight, whose promotion ■ ha* just been gazetted? left as a trooper in the Auckland Mounted Rifles with the Main Bodv of the' Expeditionary Forces, He was woundpd at Gallipoli, and after leaving hospital at Heliopolis joined the Imperial School of Instruction at Zeitoun, securing first-class certificates in telegraphy and signalling, and was/promoted sergeant-instructor. He afterwards transferred to the Imperial Camel Corps, and was in Mesopotamia when he gained his commission. Lieutenant Speight has now been appointed signalling officer to the Second Battalion Anzac Camel Corps. He is an old pupil of tho Sacred Heart College. Auckland, and son of Mr Speight, late of the Strand Catering Company. Referring to club members and the part they have played in the war the annual report of the Oriental Football Club states.—-" Tour committee consider* that the club has every reason to bo proud of the part played by members in responding to the call to arms. Our roll of honour now contains some two hundred and thirty-three names. It i s with deepest regret that we have tc record that since our last report the following additional members have made the supreme sacrifice; —Messrs J. Barber. F. Daley, W. H. Ellis, J. Hendry. L.
