PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
MEETING OF THE SOCIETY. The fortnightly meeting of the So. ciety for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held last evening in the new offices of the society, at 113, Customhouse quay. Mr F. Meadowcroft presided. The report of the society’s inspector (Captain Henry) detailed various cases of cruelty to animals discovered and remedied since the previous meeting. The following subscriptions were received and acknowledged:—Wellington Meat Export Company, £2 2s; Mr F.
