The “Daily Mail's” correspondent at Petrograd wrote on Saturday: “Tho now Government is organising the city militia to take the place of tho police. Meanwhile the military are patrolling tho streets. Excepting for the absence of tramcaru, sleighs, and horse traffic, the town has resumed its normal aspect.
“ Tho change of government in other cities, towns, and villages has been rapid and bloodless. Huge crowds watched an auction of Moscow newspapers. A single copy of tho “Russky Slovo” brought £IOOO. Tho proceeds will provide luxuries for the so Tho city is perfectly calm and safe.”
