SELINSKY - AMADIO CONCERT
A special programme of request numbers by the Selinsky-Amadio Concert Company attracted a numerous audience at tho Town Hall concert chamber lost evening. Tho utmost enthusiasm greeted every item, doable recalls being frequent, and the concert was probably so far tho most successful of the season. Mr Max Selinsky again captivated all with his violin selections, notable both for their brilliant technical skill and graceful expression. He contributed “Ballade and Polonaise - ’ (Vo. ".ups), “Lcgende" (Wieniawski), the. dieted number “Melancolique” (Tse.’n :> wsky). “Caprice” (Kreislor), and “Hire Kati Atubay). Mr John Amadio, the talented young flautist, again played , with dazzling technique and true. artistic taste. Ilis offerings. comprised 'Wind in tho Trees" (Briccialcii), “Ye Banks and Braes" fantasie. and “Song of Sleep” (Somerset) "Carnival de Venice," Italian fantasia (Terscliak). and “Traumerei." Miss Jessie Masson’s, scholarly presentations at the piano were again a combination of complete technical artistry and sympathetic interpretation. Miss Masson’s numbers were “Scherzo in C sharp minor" (Chopin), “I’oupee Valsanto," “Prelude in C sharp minor" (Rachmaninoff), and “Waifz in A flat" (Chopin). The de-. lightful vocalisations by Miss Elsy Treweok were as usual without exception warmly encored. Miss Treweek was responsible for a generous list comprising ’ “Jewel Aria f-om ‘Faust’" (Gounod). “My Treasure," "Loch Lomond," “Sm-ing’s Awakening” (Larderson). “Good-Bye" (Tosti) and “Cornin’ Thro’ the Eye." The evening concluded with tho trio for pfano, violin and flute “Hungarian Dance” (Brahms) by Miss Masson, Messrs Selinsky and Amadio. An extra concert is announced for this evening in response to a popular demand. 'Dio programme is advertised in another column.
