At the wool sales there was a very poor selection of merinos, mostly carIxmising sorts, but a few good crossbreds realised full late rates. Prices: Gear, top 33d, average 23Jd; btruan, 30d and 29; d. It is believed the list for January 4th will be kept open a little longer to allow shins to arrive. ■ (Received December 21, 10.10 p.m ) LONDON. December 21. To date 39,462 bales have been catalogued and 36,930 sold. There was a fair selection of merinos and crossbreds yesterday, and a further hardening on opening rates. All sorts were practically 10 to 15 per cent, abovp November levels. Fancy prices were paid for greasy merino combings; which are scarce and are urgently needed. Slipes generally were 3d per lb above November rates. The list for the sale opening on January 4ti{ will be closed on Friday. Probably about 60,000 .bales .will be available, chiefly merinos. The following prices were realised for the fleece portions, of the New Zealand.clips named;— Gore, top 30d per lb, average 26id ; Ngajo, 23Jd and,"23d. v , *. ....
