QUESTION OF CONSCRIPTION

CONSIDERED BY CONFERENCE OF LABOUR DELEGATES.

The conference convened by the New Zealand United Federation of Labour to discuss the question of conscription, opened at the Esperanto Hall, lambton Quay, yesterday, Mr J. Dowgray presiding over a large attendance of delegatee. Mr Dowgray extended a hearty welcome to the delegates. After a lengthy discussion in committee it was decided not to admit representatives of the daily newspapers to the deliberations of the conference, but a committee was appointed to draw up for publication a manifesto embodying the views of the conference.
