ALLEGED SHEEP-STEALING
A GERALDINE CASE.

TIMARU, January 24. William Tiplady, a small farmer, of Hilton, near Geraldine, was charged to-day, before Mr Day, S.M., with stealing four sheep from one neighbour and fourteen from another about tho sth inst. The alleged theft appears to have been found out through the accused having sold fat lambs to be delivered with another neighbour’s.When put into this man’s yard the double branding was noticed, and others similarly treated were then found on the accused’s farm. He was committed ftir trial, bail being allowed in £IOO and two sureties of £SO.
