At a mooting, of tho South Canterbury War Relief Society, it was reported that of the £ao,ooo relief fund, to bo subscribed within three years, £25,000 has been received, and £22,800 invested. It vvau decided to raise tho total to £50,000. especially by an appeal to "financial shirkers" who have not yet given. It was resolved to telegraph to tho Premier offering the services of the committee in the recruiting scheme.
