■SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TO-DAY, With a view to attracting visitors to the very excellent exhibition of pictures on view at the Art-Gallery, Whitmore street, tire exact locality of which many are unaware of, but which immediately faces tho telephone exchange at tho back of the Government Buildings, the Council of the Academy have decided to open the exhibition five to-day and to-mor-row to any purchaser of a shilling ai't union ticket, which can be obtained at the door. The full Value of the tickets sold will bo drawn at the gallery on Thursday evening, and winners are allowed to select their own prizes. As the, great; majority of the best pictures are unsold, there should be many tempting prizes offered to the winners. KeywortK (Weilington); study of head from life in charcoal or crayon, F. W. . McKellar (Dunedin) and E. Keyworth (Wellington) tied; landscape or marine study from nature in oil or water’ colour,, E. Thompson. (Dunedin); study of head in round, if. Green (Wellington); a piece of jewellery. designed and executed by exhibitor, Still (Wellington).
