SEASON OPENS ON SATURDAY

A meeting of’ the nianagcment committee of the Wellington CrnSjt Association was held in .he Civil Service Oiub rooms last evening. There were present : Messrs C. O. AM Ison (oban--man), Martin, Burton, Wills, Willis, Orombie, Fanning and Gibb. ' The chairman reported that the atrangeraents in connection with .the. match to be played on the Basin Reserve ,on Saturday: between a . team representing the .Wellington Association and the Trentham Camp Club were well in hand, 1 A letter was received from His Excellency the Governor stating that he would be present. . ... - Permission was granted the I Tenth am Camp Band to attend Saturday’s match and play selections during the afternoon. It was announced that a section of the Trentham Jroops would give an exhibition - of bayonet exercise at the tea adjournment. It, was decided that all soldiers in uniform bo admitted to.the Reserve free, , Donations were received from Messrs J. P. Firth and T. E. Bate, both of whotn' wrote accepting office as* a'vice: president of the association. The following team lias been selected to represent the Association against the Trentham team on. Saturday : W. S. Brice (captain), W. A. Baker, E. M. Beechey, W. T. Bray, H. E. Burton, A. Cato, W. R. L. Gibbes, J. S.'. Hiddleston, F. A. Midlane,, C. Robinson, and T. R. Southall. .
