From Our Own Correspondent. . MASTERTON. October 12., ; Mr Gordon, Challis, of Masterton, baa offered his services for the New Zealand reinforcements. I
' A trophy, valued at JCS St, has been donated to the Masterton A. and-'P. As. sedation for competition at the nest Masterton show. At Puniho, Taranaki, the other day. Miss Evelyn M. Pragnell, daughter of Mr E. Pragnell, formerly of Masterton, was married to Mr K- H. LawrehOe, of vVaitara. •
Mr A. P. Fielding, who has been one of the officials of the Masterton Supreme ■ Court for thirty years, and who recently retired on superannuation, has been presented by the Supreme Court officials and police with a travelling bag as a mark of esteem. The presentation was made by the popular Clerk of the Court (Mr M. Foley), who referred to the satisfactory manuer©in which, Mr Field-' ing had-always carried-out hie duties. ■ The death occurred at Clovedon on Sunday of Mr Donald Fraser. The funeral of deceased, who expressed a desire to be buried at Masterton, will taka place to-morrow. The final match for the championship of the Masterton Golf Club between Messrs F. H. Elcoate and A. B. Lawrence, 'was won by the former by 8 up and 7 to play.
