NIGHT PHARMACIES
SHOPS AND .OFFICES AMENDMENT. In committee on the Shops and Offices Amendment Bill the Hon. J*. T. Fam (Otago) suggested that the way clause woiiia be possible tor all* the chemists ot a city ITmako to run night pharmacies. The clause states that - ''a'requisition Wot 23-of £ho principal Act relating to the closing. hours of/ohcmisfe shops may provide for .the exemption *h°*efrom "£ ; £ny specified shop or shops for the purpose only of the sale of medicines and iiurgical aptplamcea that iaro .urgently needed and in such case the provisions of Bub-oeotion f of section 3 of the principal Act shall pot apply to any chemtoPs shop in the district .which is within, two miles of each specified - shop by the nearest route as determined hy_ the in-, eipeotor; ■ provided ' that the - Minister shall not direct that .any shop shall bo eo exempted unless he *is satisfied that all the occupiers ot the shops afiected by thU section have been afforded an equal right to' share in the profits of the Business carried on by such specified shop, r : The hill was passed without amendment.,: ... ■ . -. ... ;
