UNEMPLOYMENT
SERIOUS POSITION IN QUEENSLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received September 2, 10 p.m.) BRISBANE, September 2. The -unemployment trouble is serious owing to the closing of tho meat works. . Tbe Premier attended a meeting in the Trades Hall, where strong representations were made that the Government should relieve the situation. One speaker advised that where there was food in Brisbane, tho men should get it tho best way they could, even if they broke all tho laws of civilisation. The Premier promised immediate remedial legislation.
