SIR ROBERT BORDEN
A COMPLIMENTARY LUNCHEON IN LONDON. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrlghi LONDON. July 13. At a luncheon given in honour of Sir Robert Borden, Prime Minister of Canada, Mr A. J. Balfour, First Lord of the Admiralty, presided. There were also present: Mr Bonar Law (Secretory of State for the Colonies), the High Commissioners for the Dominions, the Agents-General for the Australian States, and many ablesSir Robert Borden, in a speech in reply to the toast of his health, said that Canada had sent 75,000 men overseas and has 75,000 more in training. Mr Balfour, referring to Sir Robert Borden’s remark that Canada was not a military nation, said; “Neither are the British, Australians, New Zealanders, and South Africans, but they are non-military nations which' can fight.” ~
