LONDON, July 13. “The Times” correspondent at Petrograd says:—“While the defeat of the Archduke Francis Joseph undoubtedly ameliorates the situation in the Lublin theatre, a warning note has again been sounded by military circles against premature jubilation. It is pointed out that the enemy holds a thousand-mile front, and that his failure has been on a section of forty miles only. LONDON. July 13. The Alpini accomplished another remarkable feat. They scaled precipitous peaks, and dropped on the unsuspecting Austrians, driving them out of the trenches, and making prisoners of twenty. It seems impossible to choose a position safe from flank attacks by these wonderful mountaineers. GRIP TIGHTENING ON LOWER TRENTINO ’"Times'’ and c-yauey ■'bun” Service*. LONDON, July 13. It is clear that the Italian’ grip on the Lower Trcntino is tightening. They have gained ground both east and west of the Adige Valley by taking the Galgasarta Height (4380 ft), dominating the Terra Gnolo Valley. The Italians have begun a fight for the second road from Venetia to Rovereto. ■, AEROPLANE DROPS BOMBS ON VENICE ROME, July 13. An aeroplane bombed Venice on Sunday last, damaging two houses and injuring two women and a child. A bomb almost hit the Doge’s Palace.
