WELCOME TO THE MEN
PUBLIC RECEPTION ARRANGED. The Mayor (Mr J. P- Luke) stated last night that he had been informed that the Willochra would not arrive in port before Thursday afternoon. He expressed a wish that all those who had motor-cars, and were .willing to use them in driving the men from the ship to the Town Hall, would send in their names to-day in order to facilitate the necessary arrangements. As soon as tho men arrive they will bo tendered a public welcome in tho Town Hall, and Their Excellencies Lord Lady Liverpool will be present. Short addresses will be delivered by the Governor, the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, the Hon. J. Allen, Sir Joseph Ward, and the Mayor. During the afternoon tho ladies’ committee will dispense light refreshment.
