KARORI AFFAIRS
The fortnightly meeting of the Karon Borough Council was held last evening. There were present: The Mayor (Mr B. O. H. Burn), Councillors W. C. Cooper, L. P. Davies, T. W. Lower, R. P. Pell, and W. Skegg. In his report, the engineer stated that repair work had been carried out in various streets since the last, meeting. For the quarter ended June 30th, X7O worth of metal had been sold, and X‘2s worth placet! on the streets. Further orders had been received, but the output had been restricted, and the proper working of the quarry hampered owing to the need of a thorough cleaning out and safeguarding against slips, which had been frequent since the beginning of the winter. Fotjr building permits for dwellings valued at ,62110 have been issued for the quarter ending Juno 30th.
