On Thursday the Wellington Diocesan Council of the New Zealand Catholic Federation will commence its'halfyearly deliberations! In its report the executive urges upon parish committees the need for keeping the membership up to full strength, and . expresses 'gratification at the tact that a building for Catholic purposes had been erected at the Trontbam camp. The executive regrets that it cannot com-' mend payment of the expenses of delegates attending the conference) ,as, the funds‘are not sufficient to? admit of Such payments bemg made, and .the executive points out that this fact affords an additional reason for doing everything possible to increase membership. The committee thanks all the officers and members of parish committees for their services during the period under review, and urges upon all the importance of taking advantage of every opportunity to advance the interests of the federation- One -or two earnest men or women on a parish committee can accomplish much, and the improved position of'several branches is said, to be due almost entirely to the earnest work of an industrious and self-sacri-ficing secretary. . ,
