COALITION?
another, conference held.
“The discussion has not reached a conclusion,” was the statement of the Prime Minister yesterday, in reply to a question regarding his further meeting with the leader of the Opposition during the day. Mr Massey and Sir’ Joseph Ward have met twice since the “Reform” caucus authorised the Prime Minister to proceed with the discussion of the “National Government” idea, and it appears that they will meet again before they are ready to make * statement to Parliament. Lobby opinion yesterday was still strongly against toe chance of the coalition conferences proving successful. Many members state confidently that the failure of the renewed negotiations is already assured* and that any further discussion between toe party leaders will be connected with matters apart from the “National Government” proposition. ■■
