At the V.R.C. meeting yesterday the following was the result of the GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE. Of 1750 so vs; about three miles and a ■ furlong. Flash Jack, 10.3 (Price) 1 G. L. Also started —El Progresso 11.12, Tinto 11.9, Guncap 11.7, Moonbarra 11.5, Coradjill 11.3, Busra 10.9, The Pole 10.7, Fireworks 10.5, Carlmalion 9.7, Highland Clan 9. The Polo and Moonbarra fell at the first jump. Booligal took command at the abattoirs from Carlmalion, Guncap, and Flash Jack. At the stone wall Carlmalion fell, and Guncap and El Progresso fell at the abattoirs. Booligal held the lead to the turn, when Flash Jack overhauled him. Tim Doolan made a great effort from the back of the field, but was unable to catch Flash Jack, who won by two lengths, four lengths between second and third. Fireworks was last. Time, 6min 39sec.
