HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
DUTY ON IMPORTED WHEAT. The Speaker (the Hon. F. W. Lang) took the chair at 2.30 p.m. Mr L. M. Isitt (Christchurch North) gave notice of a question whether the Government would give an opportunity of further discussion with regard tothe steps which should be taken for the defence of the Empire. Mr A. M. Myers (Auckland East) intimated that he would ask whether a history of the war would be included in the curriculum of the public schools. Mr G. Witty (Riccarton) will ask for a return with regard to the shipping engaged in the carriage of produce requiring insulated space. Mr J. McCombs (Lyttelton) gave notice of his intention to introduce the Industrial Unions and Trade Unions Empowering Bill. BILLS INTRODUCED.
The Hutt Road Bill was introduced by Governor’s Message, and read a first time.
The War Pensions Bill was introduced by Governor’s Message, and passed a first time.
