Rainsford renewed bis application ‘n be allowed to exchange part of bis I-F. holding 20, block 3, Kaitieke S.D., tor part of section 21, adjoining, and it was resolved to adhere to the board’s previous decision and to decline the application. J. Bentley applied for permission to demolish old building on Hall-Jones settlement, for the purpose of using material for enlarging cow-shed and re-

pairing barn, and it was resolved to grant it. The Kaitieke County Council applie<l to have section 2, block 5, llaurimu township. Oa Ir Op. set aside as a reserve for county purposes—lt was resolved that the board cannot sec its way to comply with this request, and to offer this section for cash by public auction at an upset price of Xlb. Messrs Perham, Larsen and Co., Ltd,, applied for the freehold of part section 31, block 5, Karioi, Oa 3i: lOp, which they are at present leasing from year to year, and it was resolved to decline to 'consider the matter until the subdivision of the adjoining Crown land takes place. J. MuiNeill applied for a license to cut timber on section 4, block 7, Kautapu survey district, and it was resolved to decline.

A report was received from the ranger making suggestions for the grouping of oeitain sections in the Horopito Village Settlement. —It was resolved to adopt the lour groups suggested and to re-offer them under Part 111. of the Laud Act, 1903, at the price of X 6 per acre; sections comprising the groups to be withdrawn. from sale as at present advertised, ivignts of tramway to be reserved. It was resolved, to allow the former sub-lessees oi sections 10, block 12, iluangarua, 531 acres; 11, block 16, Huangarua S.D., 219 acres, and 0, block r2, Iluangarua. S.P., 360 acres, to remain. in occupation from Ponruary Ist last at the rentals hituerto paid, until J uly Ist, 1915, on which date possession will be resumed. This permit to be subject to condition that no over-stock-ing takes place. With rote.rence to the board’s resolution of April 26th, 1915, granting 11. B. Coffey a license to occupy a strip of about GO acres in Te Tuhi block for a term of 5 years, Mr Ooßey requested that the license be issued to Messrs Bennett and Carrick. to whom he has sold Jus land.—it was resolved to approve.

The Tiratu Sawmilling (Company applied for a permit to graze on sections 3 and 4. block V, Makotuku S.B. —It was resolved to allow tliem to graze on about 30 acres in south-east corner of section 4, at a rent of -k5 per annum, and also to permit them to graze on other burnt patches provided they grass them and keep down noxious weeds on the whole ■area grazed.! It was resolved ft) approve of the amount received for improvements on section 18, block 5, Mangaweka North township, viz., .£5. being paid to the person entitled, to receive it. It was resolved to reoffer section XI, block 5, Horopito West township. 2 roods, on renewable lease, at present rent with value of improvements reduced from .£lO 10s to .111. It was resolved to rcoffer section 6, block 7, Whirinaki, area 498 a 2r. under Tart 111, of the Band Act, 1908," at the original capital value of' .£O3O, and to recommend offering subject to section 127 of the baud Act, 1908, with exemption for four years.

Messrs Laird Bros, applied tor a few acres of section 6, block 7. Whirinaki, as a site tor a homestead.—Refused. J. P. Barber applied for section 9, block 9,. Kaitieke S.D., as a site for a dwelling and homestead, and it was resolved to decline his application. The Boxdale Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., applied tor a license of sections 89. 2 and 3, in McKenzie Village, area 2a’ Ir, and it was resolved to grant it under section, 130 of the Land Act, 1908, for. a term of five years at a rent of ,£2 5s per annum, subject to the usual conditions, a proportionate reduction of rent to be mad© if possession of section 89 or any other section is resumed at any time. , It was resolved to approve of tenders being invited tor lease of section 9, block 1. Hautau, 11a 3r OOp. tor a term of five years under section 130 of the Land Act. 1908, at an upset rent of .£2 7s per annum, subject to the usual conditions. r , , It was resolved to approve of tenders being invited tor a lease of section a, block 5, Omahino Survey District, 10a Or OOp, for a term of five years under the Public Deserves, etc.. Tiney applied' for an advance on. 25 acres of bush be proposed to fell.—lt was resohed to decline his application, as ho has not sufficient cattle of his own to graze the area he already lias in ” Messrs A. B. Gibbons and F. -W- Gcmmell applied to have section 1, block 2, Owatua Survey District, constituted a special district for reading purposes.— It was resolved to recommend the formation of a special district over this land as regards money not already pledged for interest and other payments on special loans. It was resolved to offer the following lessees of education reserves renewals aa under, in terms of section 3 (5) of the Education Deserves Amendment Act, 1910, at the rentals stated, as recommended by the Crown lands ranger: Lessee, Fanny Montgomery; date of expiry September 30th, 1915; sections 9 and 14 block 8, Tiffin, 1091 acres; present annual rent, .£SO; proposed annual rent, All 6 5s- Lessee, James Hyman; date of expiry, August 31st, 1915; section 1008, block 9, Kairanga, 97 acres; present annual rent, A 46; proposed annual rent, A 175 17s. _ , _ The district engineer Public Works Department wrote withdrawing Ms application to surrender lease of education reserves, sections 15 and 16, block 7, Pongaroa Township.—lt was resolved to rescind the board’s resolution of March 26th last accepting the surrender. ■ H E. Barnett, lessee of section 10, block 11. Eangataua Village Settlement, 6a 3r 39p, wrote stating that he had enlisted ill the expeditionary force, and applied, to let the section to Mr John Pumphry during his absence. —Approved. Mis At. A. B. Blackwell, whose residence on section 16, block 4, Hautapu, will fall duo on December Ist next, applied for permission to appoint Ernest Floyd as her substitute.—Approved, provided the necessary declaration and papers are supplied. It was resolved to re-offer by public auction P-E.D. 315, block 3, Orona Survey District, in three lots at the upset rents shown below, on lease for a term of 31 years with perpetual right of renewal tor further successive terms of 21 years under the Education Deserves Acte and Public Bodies Leases Act.Lot 1,136 a 2r 18p. A 176; lot 2.119 a lr 12p. A 166; lot 3,123 a 3r, 18p, Al6O (rentals‘to be on values submitted by Mr Roberts, district surveyor, and sale to be at Palmerston North at same time as the Aorangi land). It was resolved to re-offer for cash by public auction the unsold sections in Mawaihakona Township (near Trentham) at the late upset prices. John Fitton applied to surrender section 54, block 3, Manunui Village Settlement (la Or 8.8 p), as it is too small for his family-—Surrender accepted, provided ho pays 6s 6d owing tor rent of broken period.
