OP WOUNDED OFFICERS. ■ Tho following personal sketches of wounded officers are obtained: from the official records;— Major C. P. Brereton, Canterbury Battalion,' is 39 years of age, and last resided at Ngatamoti, where ho was a farmer by occupation. He is a single man, and” belonged to the 12th (Nelson) Regiment. Captain J. H. Bartlett, Auckland Battalion, was born at Auckland in 1890, and last resided at Birkdale, whore he followed the pursuit of farming. He’is a single man, and in August last was a captain in tho 15th Regiment. . Oaptairi-Surgeon G. Craig is 46 years of age, ahd a native of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a married man, and on tho outbreak of the present war was practising at Marten. He served in the 3rd New Zealand Contingent in the South African war. Lieutenant H. R. Cowan, Wellington Battalion, is a native of Auckland, 25 years of age, and single. In August last hs was employed at the North Island Brewery, Mangatainoka. Ho was a lieutenant in the 17th (Ruahinc) Regiment. Lieutenant C, T. J. Woodfield, Otago Battalion; was born at London in 1883, and is a married man with three child-; ren. In August, 1914, he was a painter residing at Caversham, and had command of tho Caversham Cadets. r Lieutenant A. G. Vallentine, Otago Battalion, was born in 1892 at Balclutha, and when the war broke out was a shepherd at Waimahaka. He had charge of the local Senior Cadets, and is a single man. - Lieutenant W. F. Tracy, Otago Battalion, who is a native of Southbndge, Canterbury, is 25 years of age, single, and in ordinary life a Customs clerk by occupation. Private' B. L. Pauli was tho only son of Mr N. N. Pauli, of Wyndham. He was twenty-two years of age. He was educated at the Southland Boys’ High School, and joined the staff of the Bank 6f New Zealand at Wyndham, whore he remained for some years. He enlisted in the first expeditionary force. Before enlisting ho was second lieutenant in the 14th Regiment (C Company). He was a representative hockey player. i uance-Corporal Leonard Cave Armstrong, who has died of wounds received at the Dardanelles, was a son of Mr J. E. Armstrong. railway traffic manager; at Wanganui. Ho was a member -of Dalgety and Company’s : Wanganui .branch, and was well known in swimming and boxing circles, haviug won the ■swimming championship at Wanganui College and at the Wanganui High School. ,
