Press Association AVESTPOET, May 16. Coal and coke shipments last week were: —Westport Coal Co., 8992 tons 13 cwt coal and 24 tons 9 cwt coke; West-port-Stookton Co., 4157 tons 12 cwt coal. A co-operative company and colliery company is also producing coal, but meantime merely for the local market. WOOL SALES PRICES FOE MERINOS FIRM. By Telegraph —Press Association—Copyright LONDON, Hay 14. At the wool sales merinos to-day were firm, crossbreds unchanged. Prices realised “Midegon,” top price 14|d, average 13id; “Wellshot/’ 13id and 13d; “Mia Mia,” and New Zealand : "Mangatapiri,” ISJd and 17RI; “Waikaraka,” 17i<i and 16|d. (.Received May 16, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 15. Competition continues good, and prices are harder all round. To date 152,370 bales have been catalogued,. and 143,157 bales sold. Latest New Zealand disposals:—"Hinetangi,” 17id; “Rollesby,” top price 27)d, average 26Jd. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, under date 13th inst.; —AVool sales continue with ' increasing spiritCompared with the Closing rates of March sales fine and medium greasy crossbred are on a par and coarse 5 per cent, lower. Good merinos, greasy and scoured, are on a par, and faulty and inferior 5 per cent, lower, whilst short burry scourods are neglected. The Customs revenue received at Wellington on Saturday totalled- J 2495 3s.
