TO-DAY’S GAMES. One of the best matches of tho season should be seen to-day in the meeting between Athletic and Trentbam Clubs, at Athletic Park. l|y their defeat of Poneke on Saturday last, Athletic have established themselves as likely to be hard to beat. The three teams from the camp are about equal in strength, having been selected by their respective captains with this idea m view, and by defeating Petoue last Saturday tho Trentbam' A. team demonstrated that they are well up to the standard of tho best club teams. Oriental (who were without several ot their regular team . last week) "’ill place a much stronger team in the field against Trentbam Bat Pctone. -Petone meet University at Athletic Park No. 2. Wellington play Poneke at the Hutt, while Lelwyn journey to Trontbam to meet tho Camp A team. With five good games down for decision, patrons have a choice as to where’ they go to-day. Tbeie will be the usual early games at tho Park to interest early arrivals. NEW ZEALAND REFEREES. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Referees’ Association was to have been held last evening, at tile Y.M.C.A.. but us only seven members out of a necessary eleven were in attendance, after an hour bad been .spent in waiting the meeting was postponed. The publication of the association’s handbook is to bo gone on with.
