NEW BODY MEETS AIR BALDWIN- ELECTED TO THE CHAIR. Tho first" meeting of iho recentlyclcctcd Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday afternoon. There were present—Dr Piatts-Alills, Mes dames AlcLarcn and Ale Vicar, Messrs H. Baldwin, F. Castle, D. Campbell, H. Freeman, W. Galloway, B. R. Gardener, C. AI. Luke, J. W. AlcEwan, I l '. T. Aloore, G. Nash, D. Robertson, J. Smith, W. J. Thompson, Rev. Dr J. K. Elliott, Rev. H. Van Staveren. ELECTION OF CHAIRAIAN. The secretary (Alr.J. Coyle) presided for the. election of chairman for tho ensuing year. Mr H. Baldwin was nominated by Air D. Robertson, seconded by Air Campbell, and Air C. AI. Luke waa proposed by the Rev. H. A 7 an Staveren, seconded by Air Nash. Alv B. R. Gardener proposed Air J. Smith, but the latter declined nomination. On the ballot being taken, Air Baldwin was declared elected! The new chairman briefly thanked tho board for- tho honour, saying that iio realised the importance of the position. Ho welcomed old and new members to the hoard' table.' Reference was made by Air Baldwin to tho death of Mr J. Trevor, a former chairman of the board, and a motion of condolence with his relatives was carried. TREASURER APPOINTED. ; Air F.
