RUGBY FOOTBALL
MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. Mr D. Weir presiding. Messrs A. B. Wilson, A. Griffiths, W. Donovan. W. F. Hornig, G. Luoni, G. Howe, 11. . Buck, P. J, Ryan, and Lieutenant Christopher (representing the Trentham camp) were also present. I The Petone branch of the. St. John I Ambulance Association applied, for maiterial necessary for the work in con(nection with the matches played out there, also for renewal of passes for this season’s matches—The applications were (granted l . < , ■ The fee for a team’s entrance to. the I third grade compeitfion was received .from the secretary of the Upper Hutt ■Football Club. . . ’ . , A request from the District . High School, Petone (which has a senior and junior .team taking part in the Wellington schools competition) for two footballs was granted. An application from the Normal School, Wellington, for one ball was similarly dealt with. ■’ Permission was granted the waterside Workers’ Band to make use of Athletic Park on Sunday mornings and’ afternoons for training purposes in prepare tion for the band-marching competition at the Patriotic Society’s carnival. A protest against two members of tne Oriental sixth grade team who are alleged to be over the specified, age was held over awaiting information from the Oriental Club. . , ...
