At the Methodist Conference the secretary of the church building and loan fund reported that during the year there had been considerable activity in the acquisition of property and buildings. Freehold sites have been acquired for eight new churches, seven new parsonages, seven new Sunday school halls, and five Bible-class halls. The current trust account income was £51,151, and the expenditure £58,389. The church loan fund stands at £11,488. In the reports and balance-sheets of the various mission properties vested in the Methodist Church, a unique and interesting item of income occurs in .the Grey Institute balance-sheet, Now Plymouth, riz.t_ “£lO lie lOd royalty on oil.” The famous Taranaki oil wells are situated on this mission property, and for the first time royalties have been received. The Rev. TV G. Maslin has tendered his resignation as a minister of the Methodist Church, and the resignation has been accepted.
