ENGLISH HOCKEY PLAYERS.
Tho members of the English ladies’ ockey • team are Miss Gaskell, captain, who is secretary of the Midlands Womens’ Hockey Association, and captain of that team, and also vice-pre-sident of the association; Misses Gatey, Wetherall, Robinson, G. Hodge, 0. Smith-/ K. Tuke, Morgan, Elwell, Lambley. D. Burrough, B. Tuke, Eames, and Seacroft, An advertisement was inserted in the “Hockey Field” inviting hockey players desirous of accepting the invitation of the Now -Zealand Association, to send in their names, and replies came from all parts of England, and from these tho team was selected, as some of the members of the real representative team were unable to come. At Melbourne they had a game, and won it by 14 to nil. All the girls are sturdy and thick-set, and their faces aglow with health, says an Australian writer, and their age about twenty. ,
