MEETING OF COUNCIL. A meeting of the Peton© Borough Council, was held last night. There were present—The. Mayor (Mr T. \V. j>l6Ewan), Councillors E. AV. Forsyth, J. List, AV. Cox, C. P. BrocklebaiiK, A. Anderson, H. Findlay,'* T. Townsend, R. H. Jones, and W. Trueman. The ambulance van committee wrote thanking the council for undertaking the horsing of the van. It was resolved to ask the caretaker of the recreation ground to supply shrubs to the AVest school comniitvea for tree-planting on Arbor Hay, if there are any available.

The engineer (xMr A. Cowie) was instructed to prepare plans for the municipal boatshed to bo erected on the foreshore.
