AIR RACE
LONDON TO PARIS AND BACK WON BY AN AMERICAN. By Totejrrar.il—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 13, 0.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 12. In the air race from London to Paris and back for £IOOO sterling, Broek, an American, won, travelling 508 miles in 423 minutes. Seven competitors started, of whom Lord Carberry, Garros, and Renaux with a lady passenger reached Paris. Lord Carberry, in returning, fell in mid-channel, and a steamer picked him up. A destroyer salved his aeroplane.
