MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Saturday’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was presided over by Mr D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. For insobriety, Mary Harding and Thomas Elliott were each fined £2, or seven days’ detention; John Hyde, a prohibited person, was fined the same sum, default fixed at one month’s incarceration.
Kenneth McKinnon, charged with drunkenness, was fined 10s', or fortyeight lioura’ detention ; for using obscene language, he was fined £2, or one month; and for resisting Constable Andrew Dickson, he was fined £l, or seven days. Charles William Price, charged with being the father of an unborn illegitimate child, was remanded to July 20th. Accused was released on his own recognisance of £IOO. Daniel O’Keefe, charged with the theft of various articles ■ and moneys valued at £27 17s Gd, the property of Stephen Andrew Tilley, was further remanded to July 18th.
