Evidence given before the Abattoirs Commission showed i that cattle are- becoming scarcer in Queensland every year, and that competition is much keener, at increased prices. > Mr Hood, formerly president of the Pastoralists’ Association, replying to, questions, said he did not fear American competition; ho thought a majority of the pastoralists would welcome the Americans opening tip here.’ It would mean more competition and bettor prices. ___■
