Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 1. The weather was showery during training operations at Ellerslie this morning, and the tracks were heavy. Before breakfast La Reina covered a. mile on the sand, the last seven furlongs, with the assistance of Waiwera, being run in Imiu 32 2-ssec. Tragedy King and Soultikoff were together at the end of seven furlongs on tho sand, run in Imin 33 4-ssec. Jolie Fillo was bettor than Prince Soult over six furlongs in Imin 19 3-ssec. Syns did four furlongs on th© sand in 51 3-ssec. Grimax, with the assistance of Self, ran seven, furlongs on the sand in Imin 33sec, a good performance. The hurdle hors© Kaween did a mil© on the sand in Imin 51sec, and Spalfish went four furlongs on the inside grass in 55 2-ssec. Haskayno and Idealism were together two lengths from Royal Arms after on© round on the inside grass, the time being Imin 51' l-ssec. JBercola and Sandy . Paul did strong work a couple of circuits on the sand. Neither finished too well- Crown Pearl was better, than Day Fly over five furlongs on the inside grass, the time being Imin 6 l-ssec. A lot of others did useful work. Fleet Arrow and Cuirarua jumped a couple of the hurdles in good style. Waldemar, Master Sly, The Pole, and Napper Tandy jumped five hurdles, the quartette fencing well, the two former being in front, Glenmore took the big fences in the centre of the course, giving a good display. Admiral Sonlt jumped two hurdles. Mapuna and Makiri did a circuit of the country, going over the hill, fencing well, though Mapuna ran off at the second fence of the double. All the candidates in the big jumping events were out and registered useful work, though few against the watch. Gipsy Belle, Red Pine, and Lady Middleton arrived on Saturday.
