LONDON, May 31. In the final of the Universities match, played at Chiswick, Dixon defeated Harding, 6—2, 3—6, 7—6. Harding’s fine service and remarkable volleying proved him a possible Davis Odp competitor. Dixon’s placing discounted Harding’s reach.

In the Middlesex tournament finals Lowe defeated Harding, 7- —5, 3 —6, 7—5, B—6; Dunlop and Lowe defeated Beamish and G, Watt, 7—5, 6—3, 6—4.
