SIGNALS MISTAKEN
Press Association. .DUNEDIN, May 21. An inquiry into the circumstances connected with the death of David Peter Loo Donovan, killed through two engines colliding, concluded today. The coroner said ho must come to the conclusion that the danger signals had been either overlooked or mistaken by the driver of the Port Chalmers engine, David Dutton. Mr Macgregor said Mat amounted virtually to a charge of manslaughter against Dutton. The coroner: I do not think so. It must he shown he did something wrong.
Mr Macgregor: It places him in a very unfortunate position. There is no' direct charge made against him even now.
The coroner remarked that that was his decision.
