THE MASTERTON SEAT

MR A. W, HOGG’S INTENTIONS.

Special to tho u Times. 75

MASTERTON, May 20.

Mr A. W. Hogg, ex-member for Masterton, to-day informed" a “Times” reporter that ho was present at a meeting of the Liberal League, held at Ekotahuna, at which proceedings were of a particularly enthusiastic nature.

Mr Hogg was asked by the meeting whether he would support Sir Joseph Ward in the event of him (Mr Hogg) being returned as member for Masterton. Mr Hogg replied that he looked upon the Liberal party and the Labour party as almost identical, and he .trusted they would bo thoroughly united in the coming fight. If Sir Joseph Ward was chosen as leader and ho (Mr Hogg) was returned as member for Masterton he would certainly support Sir Joseph Ward. This would indicate that Mr Hogg will bo a candidate for the Masterton scat in the Liberal interests.
